Cafe Restaurant Pizzeria Wanninger is an absolute gem! The owner, the Vasilis, is exceptionally kind, warm, and and welcoming - he truly makes every guest feel special. He personally prepares the meat using his own special recipe, and creating amazing burgers and other meat dishes that are full of flavor. The food is incredibly tasty, the atmosphere cozy, friendly and inviting, and overall ambience is beautiful and charming. Every moment we spent here was a delight, and we can't wait to come back! Coming back to Café Restaurant Pizzeria Wanninger after a few months felt like coming home again. The food and the desserts are absolutely delicious, full of flavor and made with real care and the atmosphere is so warm and cozy that you just want to stay longer. The hosts are incredibly friendly and make every guest feel welcome. It’s one of those rare places you look forward to returning to, because it never disappoints. A true gem in Oberammergau - highly recommended! Vasilis is extremely welcoming and friendly, which is very rare these days, it is a real pleasure to meet such a great person and a real restaurateur. It's shame that Google map review include the bad reviews of previous place and owners because now the Wanninger deserves only 5 stars!

This is a wonderful family-run restaurant full of soul. The food is delicious, clearly homemade, and very well priced. I especially recommend the Greek dishes (Moussaka in particular), which were outstanding, and I loved the passion of the owner and chef from Greece when he talks about his food and wine. They also offer homemade international options like wood-fired pizza and generous burgers. Great food, great prices, and lots of heart.

What a gem!! The father/son duo that waited on us could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. Woodfire pizza was delish (and big!) and the service was super quick. If I ever find myself back in town I will definitely be stopping by to enjoy the hospitality!

My husband and I had a lovely dinner at Cafe Wanninger. We had a Greek salad, pizza, and amazing Greek chocolate dessert recommended by the owner. The place is beautiful, the food delicious, and the owner and staff are very welcoming. I highly recommend this cafe and wish the new owners much success. Yamas!

Enjoyed a lovely lunch at this relaxing restaurant. Service was very friendly, given we were speaking English and the waitress did not have a great understanding. Such a pretty village to visit!

Our dining experience was outstanding. The restaurant is under new ownership and the owner was amazing. I recommend it highly. We enjoyed pizza, Greek salad, dunkels a wonderful desert and ouzo. Two thumbs up.

We visited Cafe Restaurant Pizzeria Wanninger (maybe it'll get a new name with new owners) as a family and absolutely loved it. The food was incredibly delicious, the atmosphere warm and welcoming, and the staff exceptionally kind, friendly, and hospitable. We felt truly comfortable and well taken care of. It was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely come back again!

Really delicious food! Very friendly staff as well and easy to find as it is not far from the station or other tourist attractions.
